Diamante Valley
Acraya’s first sanctuary. Private light-free domes in one of Costa Rica’s most serene valleys — reserving now, from $350 per night, all food and beverage included.
Reserve Your StayHolos sits in the Diamante Valley of southern Costa Rica, a lush, sheltered basin surrounded by rainforest, waterfalls, and mountain ridgelines. The valley’s remoteness is the point: far from roads, light, and noise, it offers the kind of natural quiet that makes the transition into — and out of — complete darkness gentle.
The center itself is an established retreat property with prepared grounds, a dedicated kitchen, and on-site staff. Acraya has integrated private dark room domes into the property, each engineered for total darkness and equipped with the Bardo Room support system.

Each retreatant stays in a private geodesic dome, purpose built for darkness practice. Inside: a comfortable bed, an ensuite bathroom, and generous space to move and practice. A light-lock passage lets meals and supplies enter without a single photon following them.
Every dome carries the Bardo Room system — radar-based sensing of presence, breathing, and heart rate; thermal imaging that works in total darkness; and two-way audio connecting you to your facilitator. You wear nothing, and nothing intrudes. Support is one spoken word away.

Stays at Holos start from $350 per night. Status: Reserving now. Every stay includes:
Arrive at Holos, settle in, walk the grounds, and complete your final preparation session with your facilitator. You enter the dark room in the evening.
Your days follow your own rhythm — meditation, rest, and gentle movement, untethered from the clock. Meals arrive through the light-lock. Your facilitator checks in through the room’s audio system, and you can request a conversation at any time.
You leave the dark gradually, through a gentle transition to low light before stepping outside. The rest of the day is unstructured — many guests describe it as one of the most vivid of their lives.
A closing session with your facilitator before departure, and structured integration support in the weeks that follow.
Stays are flexible. For a first retreat we suggest three to five nights — long enough for the deeper phases of the process to begin, short enough to remain manageable. Longer stays can be arranged with your facilitator.
From $350 per night, including all food and beverage, facilitation, and in-room support. There are no hidden costs.
